Second stop on my Belgian bar crawl in Brussels: A l'Imaige Nostre-Dame
On my second stop, I made the mistake of deferring to the bartender, saying that I would drink whatever dark beer she recommended (after vetoing her suggestion of Chimay Blue). She choose Kasteel 11° (11% ABV). This made me nervous, and rightfully so. It was only three in the afternoon, and my tolerance doesn't allow for a full day of drinking 11% beers.
A l'Imaige Nostre-Dame itself has a great atmosphere: small, comfortable, pretty much wooden everything, and quiet except for the bar conversations in either Flemish or French.
