After visiting the Catacombs of Paris, I took a walk toward Montparnasse, in the 14th arrondissement, or so I thought. I had planned to see if the restaurant Le Plomb de Cantal was open, so that I could sample some stuffed cabbage, or andouillette, or aligot, which is mashed potatoes with Cantal cheese, a dish typically served in L'Aubrac. I didn't expect the restaurant to be open so early on a Sunday, but I figured I'd give it a shot. Unfortunately, I got myself twisted and walked in the wrong direction. I ended up at Parc Montsouris, so I took a stroll through the park instead. While walking through the park, I spotted a bunch of young schoolgirls in uniform, complete with berets, lined up on a bench, eating baguettes. It seemed perfectly French.
