GUM [ГУМ (Главный универсальный магазин)] is the State Department Store, the most famous of which faces Red Square, in Moscow. The stores themselves are whatever, but the mall itself is impressive, especially its massive ceiling. On the top floor, there is a great Russian cafeteria, Столовая (Stolovaya), where I ate quiche with tomato and zuchhini, beef pirozhok, bliny, oatmeal milk porridge, and washed it all down with a "fruit jelly drink," basically, a smoothie.
