7 rue des Grands Augustins (Picasso, Balzac)

My apartment in Paris (30 rue des Grands Augustins) is less than 150 paces from where Picasso, in 1937, painted Guernica (7 rue des Grands Augustins). The same address was also home to Frenhofer, the fictional painter imagined by French writer Honoré de Balzac in his short story, Le Chef-d'œuvre inconnu (The Unknown Masterpiece), published in L'Artiste in August, 1831.
