Red pandas, at the Chengdu Panda Base; Sichuan province, China

In addition to the iconic giant pandas, the Chengdu Panda Base also has red pandas. Larger than cats but smaller than most dogs, the red panda is native to southwestern China and the eastern Himalayas. There are approximately 10,000 in the world. They waddle when they walk, and they are mostly solitary creatures, who, depending which of the conflicting signs at the park you want to believe, are either docile and friendly, or will fuck you up if you look at them the wrong way.
