Night construction at Victoria Harbour, Hong Kong

Last night I walked from Wan Chai Ferry Terminal across a good stretch of the Hong Kong Island waterfront, toward the Central Ferry Terminal. There was so much road construction that I was forced to take a detour and ride the metro back to Kowloon Peninsula.

There was also some construction in the harbor, apparently, although I have no idea what it is they were doing (besides the obvious, dropping packed earth into the sea): perhaps it has something to do with preventing erosion or pollution?
