Gaegeum-dong, Busanjin-gu; Busan, South Korea

Currently I am staying in Busan, more specifically at the Gaegeum Jugong Apartments in Gaegeum-dong, Busanjin-gu. Busanjin-gu is a region of Busan, and within Busanjin-gu there are 11 dong, of which Gaegeum is one. The names Busanjin-gu and Busan are not interchangeable. There are about 400,000 people in Busanjin-gu, as opposed to 3.5 million in all of Busan.

This is the view from the 11th floor, from the front balcony outside my girlfriend's apartment.

This is the view from the first footbridge at the first intersection outside the apartment complex.

Walk a little farther and you'll come to this bridge, which takes you, as far as I can tell, to the heart of Gaegeum, to most of the markets and shopping and restaurants and schools, etc.

This little girl is standing outside of Paris Baguette Café across the street from the apartment complex where I am staying. Just outside the framelines of this photo, to the right, is a vending machine with hot coffee for only 300 Korean won (about 28 cents). My first stop daily.

Although this is not the apartment complex where I am staying, these are typical Korean apartments in Busan, and they are nearly identical to the place that's currently my home.
