Hopkins, Belize

I stopped in Hopkins instead of Dangriga because I'd heard that it was Hopkins Day, which appeared to be nothing especially noteworthy; nobody whom I asked actually knew why or what was being celebrated, but celebrate they did. I managed to walk around for a few hours until the heat defeated me. I did not manage to take many photos. Sometimes it's just too hot and/or I forget and/or I just really don't care all that much. On this day, it was just too hot.

Hopkins, Belize.

Hopkins, Belize.

I ate here only because I hadn't had Indian food since last year, and it's already August. I knew it would be a mistake and it was a mistake. The cook was drunk, smoking over my meal, and the food itself was drenched in cinnamon to the point where I suspected it was camouflaging the fact that the vegetables were rotten. Ten out of ten would eat here again, but only if I hadn't had Indian food in at least six months. Maybe next time I'll just get naan and call it a day.
