Outside my friend John's apartment in Honduras. I used to live in this complex too. There is never any shortage of bats here. Day, night, doesn't matter. Sometimes we used to stand outside at night and feel them fly by our faces, trusting that they wouldn't bump or bite us. But then John got bumped too frequently, and my rabies vaccine (from when I visited Siberia in winter) got a bit too old to be effective with confidence, so nowadays I come and go more quickly. Still, it's a pretty wonderful thing to experience nature so close. Sometimes they get inside the apartment. That's a bit too close.
